Going through your wonderful list of titles, one group of pictures really stands out. These are the Ealing Comedies produced by Sir Michael Balcon. Essentially British, with no American influence at all, they none the less worked in the US and around the world. Great actors like Alec Guiness in Kind Hearts and Coronets and of course, The Ladykillers and Passport to Pimlico – they will never go out of date. Sir Michael was very influential as a mentor for me in my early producing years.
